Program - Audience Development:

  • Developed new public radio formats, (AAA and Americana) fine-tuned programming and strengthened on-air sound to double audience at two stations.

  • Developed and trained volunteer workers from 25 to 100 community adult and student volunteer staff members for broadcast and support functions.

Fund-raising and Sales:

  • Exceeded sales goal of $12,500 in monthly underwriting collections.

  • Raised $25,000 in direct team support for carriage of an AAA minor league baseball season.

  • Twice increased new station fund-raising revenues from under $100,000 to over $650,000 in five years.

  • Raised $100,000 for digital conversion and HD Radio.

  • Raised $10,000 per year for three years from National Endowment for the Arts for Youth Media Program.

 

Media Production:

  • Wrote and produced cable-access college TV programming for local community, and promotional videos for RTV curriculum and college administration.

  • Produced instructional designed interactive training video-conferences with student/staff production/engineering team for the North Carolina Department of Community Colleges.

  • Produced historical radio feature series: Over Home (NC), Along the D&L Heritage Corridor (PA), and Back Yard Revolution (VA).

  • Early Experience: Supervised CETA youth employment training for under-served young adults, setting up supervised part time work experiences. Trained in life skills, resume writing, time management, dress for success and employability.  Evaluated success and kept CETA records on each young person for local community center. 

 

Teaching and Curriculum Design:

  • Designed, wrote curriculum and taught Broadcast Management, Radio and TV Programming, TV Production, Broadcast Promotions, Broadcast Writing, Media Law, and Film Studies.
